MAC Calvià archaeological museum, Mallorca
The museum has been conceived as an element of relation between the entrance and the extraordinary natural landscape of Puig de Sa Morisca’s Park. It is a singular building, respectful with the environment and with the topography of the place, to which it adapts organically.
Integration with landscape, adaptation to topography, respect for the ancient paths and adaptation to a versatile functional programme have been the main objectives of the proposal. The different elements of the museum are articulated around a large open-air hall, which follows the route of the existing paths.
The shapes of the green roof blend with the environment and give rise to an elevated route that generates different points of view over the archaeological park.
