Erwin Broner Viewpoint, Ibiza
In 1960, Erwin Broner, to build his house in Ibiza chose a plot of the historic centre of Sa Penya, located in front of the sea, on the edge of the cliffs. The aim of the project is the recovery of its urban space, currently very degraded, that becomes a small access square to the newly restored Erwin Broner Foundation.
The intervention only act on the current wall that runs from the bastion of Santa Llucia to the Broner House to regain views, removing fences, and lowering the height of the existing wall. This wall becomes a wall system – railing that solves the limit between public space, the cliffs and Broner House. This new wall at the same time contains all the elements of the project (the lighting elements of the square and the walls and a tamarix parviflora). In the parts open to the views, the wall becomes a white concrete pavement.
